Meet Cynthia

Since childhood, I’ve always dreamed of exploring faraway places and exotic destinations. I knew deep down that a career in travel was my true calling. After spending a few years in college, I decided to pursue my passion and enrolled in travel school in Seattle. Upon graduation, I landed a position as a travel agent at a small agency that specialized in vacation travel for local residents. I loved helping people plan everything from trips to Hawaii and Europe to Caribbean cruises and quick getaways to Disneyland.

I then gained experience working at several corporate agencies in Tacoma and Seattle, even owning my own travel agency for a time. But my real breakthrough came when I applied for a position with Rick Steves’ Europe Through the Back Door. Since 2007, I’ve had the privilege of working with the company in various roles, including positions in the rail department, tour sales, consulting, and as a guide.

Although I still do occasional contract work for Rick Steves, I now run my own consulting business, combining my passion for travel with my expertise to help others explore the world.

Regarding my personal journey, I spent the majority of my life in Poulsbo, Washington, where I met and married my high school sweetheart. In 2020, I relocated to Fort Collins, Colorado, to be closer to my son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren. I’ve come to love the sunny weather and stunning mountains here. My hobbies include biking, hiking, and fly-fishing, and in the winter, I enjoy skiing at Sun Peaks Resort in British Columbia.

I primarily travel to Europe each season, as that’s my area of expertise, and I make it a point to explore new destinations each year to broaden my knowledge. My favorite travel destination is the Greek Islands, though the Alps hold a special place in my heart. I also have extensive travel experience in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Croatia, England, Scotland, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, and parts of Scandinavia.
